COLOUR THEORY: COLOUR BOARDS

This colour board is from the film up and shows a wide variety of different examples of colour theory. The beginning of the board shows several old fashioned scenes that are in black and white or achromatic, however this quickly turns to many vibrant and happy colours. In some scenes the use of colour is limited to only one pallet such as only using different shades of orange or various shades of blue to signify a sombre and lonely mood.

A good example of that is this scene where the main character reflects upon how he misses his wife and would rather reside in the shadows than the brighter moonlight.

In the incredible moodboard you can see a lot more clearly the story line of the film.  Throughout the board it uses both monochromatic colours and analogous colours.  As before in the last colour board there are scenes that convey different emotions such as near the start that shows using only a grey colour pallet however unlike the last colour board this shows that its monotonous and boring instead of nostalgic

In this section of colour board it  gives various examples of different feelings and emotions that are conveyed.  In the scene were the sunset is shown it gives the feeling of heroism and justice while the next scene shows bob talking to a small child and is a severe contrast to the last image as it shows the monotonous dullness through the use of grey and bleak colours. The final image is mainly trying to convey a sense of nostalgia with the use of browns.
